Genre: Erotic Romance

Some pain is felt on the surface others are felt on the soul. Kate knows the sting of deception all too well. Though she bears no physical scars-her ability to trust has been shattered. When her work has her spending time with New York’s most notorious bachelor she finds herself fighting her attraction- that is until he stops fighting fair. But Cole’s high flying lifestyle has made him some powerful enemies. Enemies that want to extract revenge on the irreverent playboy where it hurts the most. Will Kate find the pleasure that eluded her until now only to have it ripped away? Or will she face her past and allow herself the chance to be Free To Trust?

SORM excerpt

“Cole! We can’t just do this here,” she complained.

He scooped her into his arms and carried her over to the curved wall below the staircase and set her back on her feet. Grabbing her wrists that still clung to the lapels of her robe, he raised them above her head. With the belt from her robe, he quickly bound her wrists to the railing and stepped back. Her robe hung open, framing her body for him as she squirmed against the silk binding her wrists.

“Shh, Angel. If you want me to stop all you have to do is say so, and I will, but believe me, it will be your loss.” She stopped fighting.

His finger traced her skin, following the line of the robe from her collarbone, tracing her curves. “There is only one rule to sex after consenting adults, Angel. It should be good.” The rest is open for constant renegotiation. The where, when, and how is up to us. Here and now sounds good to me.” Finger-combing her hair first, he then fisted his hand at her nape, tilting her mouth up to meet his and searching her eyes before running the tip of his tongue over her lips. “What do you say, Angel. Do you want to argue?” he whispered.

“No,” she breathed. Emphatically shaking her head, she stretched herself upwards towards his lips that he held just out of reach. His hands burrowed inside the thin garment seizing her rounded ass and licking the sensitive spot at the base of her throat. Rewarded by her guttural moan he redoubled his efforts, licking a trail down to her straining nipples and savoring each one in turn.

Saved by the Wolf by Marie Mason

SOR Saved by the Wolf VBT BannerGenre: Paranormal

Logan McCall had always wanted to be a family man—in spite of—his playboy reputation. Find his mate, have a few pups and settle down into a long, loving relationship sounded good, real good to him.

During a storm that rocked Chicago for three days, Logan found fate had a wicked sense of humor when it sent nurse Katie Wilson tumbling into his life. She was here for a weekend of loving with a man alright, just not with Logan.

How can he convince a woman that his reputation as Chicago’s hottest bachelor is all smoke and mirrors and that what he truly longs for is a mate and a family he can love and cherish.

Driving along a snow covered highway in the middle of a blizzard, Katie swore off men. It was a man who had put her in this dangerous situation. Well, a man and her stubborn pride.  She’d been unwilling to waste the romantic getaway that had already been paid for at a secluded mountain cabin just outside the city. So she decided to enjoy the weekend all by herself—if you didn’t count the adult toys she had packed in her suitcase and the multiple pints of ice cream she planned to buy on her way out of the city.

The last thing she’d been expecting on her binge-eating, binge-crying weekend was being Saved by the Wolf.

SORM excerpt

For an instant, her hands fluttered helplessly as she tried to figure out where to touch him. Then she

remembered. She could touch him anywhere. He was hard as a rock—all over. She’d felt the proof of that not moments before. Katie’s hands explored his body, the corded muscles of his shoulders, the light mat of curling hair on his chest and the taut planes of his abdomen. He truly had a spectacular physique.

Powerful arms roped with muscles, layers of strength making his chest and shoulders wider than any

other man she’d ever been around.

He was strong and powerful. And hers? Somehow it just felt right to think that. Like the growl of a wolf she’d heard in her head last night, the image of one flashed through mind and she had no doubt she was seeing Logan in his animal form.

Autumn Leaves by Barbara Winkes

May 23, 2015 Uncategorized 1

SOR Autumn Leaves VBT Banner (1)Genre: F/F Romance

With one revelation, her world will shift forever.

Rebecca has everything she ever dreamed of in life: a family, a beautiful home and good friends. When Callie moves into the house across the street, Rebecca is quick to welcome the young writer into the tightly-knit community of Autumn Leaves. She has no idea that Callie will confront her with a truth about herself she might not be ready to face.

All Callie wanted was to flee the big city and finish her latest book in peace, but life in the small town comes with unexpected temptation and danger.

SORM excerpt

“Let’s see, you bring me food and booze. You’ve known me for five minutes and still haven’t said I talk too much, and you’re fixing my faucet? You’re already my favorite neighbor.”

You could be mine, Rebecca thought, pleased. She set down her cup and got up. “All right, I need to get Maggie from practice in a little while, so I better get started.” She discarded the cardigan and hung it over a chair, stepped out of her pumps and put them underneath. The black T-shirt she wore and the slacks were fine for this kind of work. She could come up with a verdict quickly. “I think it’s just the mounting nut under the sink that needs to be tightened.”

“Um…” Callie didn’t seem to know what to make of that piece of information. “Whatever you say.”

“Don’t worry, it’s nothing serious. Cole’s prices are outrageous anyway. So what do you do?” Rebecca asked, still half-buried under the sink.

“I write,” Callie said.

“What kind of things?”

“Lesbian erotica.”“Ow!” Getting upright, Rebecca promptly hit her head. Callie had some kind of humor. A good thing Betty wasn’t here or the story would have easily topped the no-name-Hollywood-actress one.

“You want me to work on your pipes and not mess up the job, don’t say things like that.” “Why? It’s true.”

Rebecca came out from under her temporary workplace to look at her neighbor skeptically. “There’s a market for that? Really?”

“I can afford to keep this house, if that’s what you meant.” Callie’s tone was somewhat guarded now.

“Sure. Whatever.” There was an indiscreet question on the tip of her tongue, and Rebecca thought she’d better finish here before it slipped out.

“I write all kinds of things.” Callie sighed. “This is just one section, you know. If you want to ask, just ask me already.”

“None of my business. The faucet should be okay now.”

“Thanks.”

“You’re welcome.” Rebecca let the water run for a moment, then turned it off, satisfied that there was no more noisy dripping. “I’m sorry,” she said after a moment of hesitation. “It’s your life. I didn’t mean to judge.”

“Well,” Callie said somberly, “sometimes, when people say I talk too much, I suppose they’re right.”

“No, they’re not. I asked. If you want some advice, though, don’t tell everybody. News travels fast in a small community.” Realizing what she’d just said Rebecca shook her head. “Now listen to me. You’ve been here for a day and I’m already scaring you off. I’m sorry.”

“No harm done. I appreciate the warning. Besides, I write children’s books too. Oh, and, Rebecca…?” Her hand already on the door handle, Rebecca turned around. “Feel free to come over whenever you like. I’ll be here most of the time, writing, and I love distractions.”

Rebecca felt ridiculously relieved that Callie didn’t begrudge her the earlier misunderstanding. “I’ll remember that,” she said. “Don’t forget to call off the plumber.”

Cover Reveal: Breathe Deep by Trisha Haddad

SOR Breathe Deep Cover Reveal VBT 2 Banner

Genre: Young Adult

Sequel to Deep Green

Breathe Deep_TrishaHaddad_Cover_150dpi (1)When you’re recalled to life, the first thing to do is breathe…Leah is alive, which is saying a lot after the last few months. She’s faced terrorists, starvation, wild animals, and an assault. Not to mention being marooned for months on an island. Being alive right now is a big deal. Who knew that reentering civilization would be such a struggle?
Her attacker stalks Leah’s nightmares. Paparazzi stalk her waking hours. The goals she worked years toward have unraveled in the months she’s been gone. Her parents look at her like she’s a zombie, risen from the dead (and sometimes she feels that way). She should be able to relate to the other survivors, but one has become a media darling and the other is having even more trouble than Leah acclimating.
Can the castaways rebuild their lives in a world that assumed they were dead? Can romance move forward when the only thing they have in common is the past? Will Leah settle for the distractions of modern life? Or will she find a purpose and a voice?

Praise for Deep Green:

“The author addresses prejudice, abuse, and relationships with men in a way that makes it easy for the target audience to relate to… Leah’s courage and spirit are uplifting. This is a beautiful story and is well written. As a teacher of middle grade students, I would encourage teenage girls to read this adventure.” – Once Upon A YA Book

“Deep intrigue and intense plot are carefully weaved throughout the story…I see similar qualities to the Life of Pi, as Haddad adds intellectual reflection and discussion from her main characters, and is why I would recommend this book to an audience beyond YA.” – A Little Something to Chew On

Saving her is going to be one of the toughest jobs of his life, because instead of his mind ruling his heart, his heart is ruling his mind.

Security expert and ex-Navy Seal Kent Lloyd steps onto British soil wishing he was anywhere else. But when Jasmine Owen refuses to visit her sisters in Washington, giving them one lame excuse after another, even Kent knows something is seriously wrong.

The last person Jasmine expects or wants to see at her door is the super sexy man who walked away from her bed after one wild night. But when her sisters suspect something is wrong, they send Kent to check on her. Jasmine hasn’t told her family about the stalker who’s making her life a living hell and has her in a constant state of fear, but it looks like she might not be able to keep the truth from them any longer.

Both Kent and Jasmine agree on one thing—they want him to leave England and return to the US as soon as possible. However, he refuses to leave until she’s safe, which means he has to track down her stalker first, and Jasmine has no clue who it is or why the person is obsessed with her.

As Kent struggles to solve the mystery, he also struggles to keep Jasmine at a distance, which is proving to be difficult. The woman stirs his toughened soul, and if he has to spend too much time around her she just may squeeze her way into his heart.

Content Warning: contains adult language and explicit sex

SORM excerpt

The security at the apartment complex was laughable. Kent had found it very easy to enter the building. The front desk where the security guard was supposed to be was vacant. As he walked toward the elevator and waited for the doors to open no one stopped him or asked who he was. It took him to the top floor, and he walked to Jasmine’s apartment.

When he knocked, there was no answer, so he thumped louder. A crash came from inside, but still there was no response at the door. He called out Jasmine’s name, but it was silent. His gut was telling him something wasn’t right, and he pounded his fist against the door again, the wood rattling in its frame. Without hesitation, he shouldered the door, and it crashed open.

There was a slight whooshing noise to his left, which sent him into combat mode. He used reactions that had been sharpened during his school days when he’d had to protect himself from a bully who used to wait on every corner. Until he’d beat the guy up, giving him a taste of his own medicine. Needless to say, he hadn’t bother Kent again. During his time in the Navy SEALS Kent had perfected those skills.

Swinging toward the noise, he lifted his arm to block the blow that was heading his way. He grabbed the unplugged lamp before it connected with his head and had the person in a headlock before he realized it was Jasmine.

He tossed aside the lamp and spun her around to face him. Her long red hair was covering her face. “Jeesus, what in hell’s name do you think you’re doing?” he asked.

She shook the hair from her face and large peridot green eyes stared back at him, the fear all too obvious as her breath came in pants and her body trembled so hard that he felt it right through to his bones.

“Why didn’t you answer the door?”

She stared back at him, her eyes filling with tears.

“Jas, honey, speak.” He shook her gently and a tear slipped down her cheek, filling him with something that stabbed at his heart. “Damn it.” He wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close to him.

He’d scared the living daylights out of her. He should have realized that before he knocked her door in. Her whole body shook against him, and he felt like a jerk.

“I’m sorry, honey. I didn’t mean to scare you.”

Jas dug her hands beneath his jacket and wrapped both arms around him. Her fingers gripped at his back, holding onto the material of his shirt tightly. Her face lay on his chest as she burrowed in close to him.

“Kent?” It was the first word that had come from her since he’d made his entrance.

“Uh-huh.”

“What are you doing here?”

“You haven’t been to see your sisters. You missed Emily coming into the world, and you told Daisy you weren’t going to be coming for Thanksgiving either.”

Jasmine shivered. “I couldn’t go. I explained that to her. I’m getting over another cold, and I’ve got no one to look after the shop.”

Her usually perfectly spoken voice was strained, and he frowned. There was something very off with her. This was not the Jas he knew. He brushed his hand up and down her back, comforting her, until he felt her relax and release the tight hold she had on his shirt.

He kept whispering to her in a soft, comforting voice, assuring her that he would take care of her and everything was going to be okay. When her trembling had almost stopped he stepped back to look at her, and he was shocked at what he saw.

Her usually beautifully coifed hair was untidy, her skin was so pale it was almost alabaster, and the dark circles beneath her eyes told him something was going on, and he wasn’t moving until he got to the bottom of it.

“What’s going on, Jas?”

“Nothing. Everything is fine.” She turned around to go further into the room, but he stopped her by placing his hands on her shoulders and whirling her around so that she faced him. Her chin was dropped to her chest and he raised it with his fingers.

“Honey, you’re lying.”

She shook her head and smiled, but it didn’t reach her eyes. “Trust me, Kent, you don’t want to know.”

“Why not?”

“Because it has nothing to do with you.”

“Get your stuff together. The jet is on standby, and I’m taking you to Washington. On the way there you can tell me why it is you look so awful.”

“No.” She twisted away from him and walked toward the window.

Deacon Archer is also a Dom and part owner of Club Rebellion and he is in love with Shane Wise. Together Shane and Deacon must decide if the love they feel can withstand the scrutiny they fear, if their relationship is revealed.

Can two dominants truly forge a relationship? Will secret desires open up a new world and allow Shane to be the man he was intended to be or will veiled dominance get in the way?

SORM excerpt

“El. Oh my God! You’re here.” She flung herself into El’s arms, knocking him back into Dalton’s lap, and armful of best friend. The table erupted into laughter as Issy clutched El and hugged him like no tomorrow, reigning kisses on his face.

“I’m glad someone missed me.” El pecked the Latina on the cheek as he hugged her tight.

“Tell me everything, all the nasty.” She slid into the rounded booth next to Johnson, as he shook hands with his partners.

“Welcome back, Dalton. Eldridge. From your smiles, I take it the honeymoon was wonderful.”

“Damn straight,” Dalton replied.

“You two ready to get back into the swing of things?” Deacon asked, catching glimpses of Shane through his peripheral vision.

“Yeah, we’ll start tomorrow. Tonight we need to hit the sack and just sleep. I’ve got jet lag,” Dalton grumbled.

“El, you were supposed to bring him back less cranky. Didn’t you two fuck enough?” Shane jumped in.

“Ha. Ha. We had a layover and have been sitting on a plane for three hours, sue me if my ass is a little sore. And yes, we had plenty of sex, if you must know.” Dalton smiled demonstrating no ill-will or sting to the conversation. “How about you bring us up to speed while we eat?”

Deacon laughed as two conversations took place at the table, the four partners and Eldridge and Issy. Deacon brought Dalton up to date with memberships and club info with Shane and Johnson’s help, while Issy discussed their new business venture with El. The conversation, albeit all of them practically speaking at the same time, flowed and was minimally interrupted except for the waiter.

“We can give you the finer details concerning Manning and Hill, but everything is in order. We gave them a temp pass and we can vote on their admittance next week if you want. And of course, Issy’s great idea about the mixers.” Deacon watched the beam surround Johnson’s face as he praised his friend’s wife.

“I’m excited about the mixers,” Eldridge chimed in as he sipped his orange juice with a splash of mango and pineapple over crushed ice. His favorite, thanks to Dalton. “Can we do themes?” The serene expression on El’s face as he turned to Dalton, saddened and elated Deacon at the same time, hoping that someday, he could witness the same tranquility on Shane’s face, when he looked at him in public. Someday, hopefully, would be here soon.

“Yeah, I think eventually we should do themes, but for the first one, it will be meet and greet, by invitation only. We’ll also have some vendors here to make the rounds for play items and jewelry.”

“On another note, no plans for Saturday evening please.” Issy looked from Dalton to Eldridge. “I’ve planned a dinner party in your honor at our house. Just six of us and El, all your favorite foods. Master James and Tony and Josiah and Sandy were also invited, but aren’t able to come.”

“Wow. Tony and Sandy? A lot has happened since we left,” Dalton stated, intrigued.

“You know that Tony’s had his eye on Sandy for some time now and he finally made the move. They did my flogging demo and they’re interested in a wax play demo when you do another. I think that Tony may ask Sandy to be his, permanently, sooner than later.” Deacon tilted his head as two men approached their table.

Elegantly dressed in black slacks and a crisp white shirt, Christopher Manning, along with Parker Hill, strode over, retrieving two water bottles from a passing waiter. The older gentleman, not hard to miss, had a head full of thick gray hair, worn slightly longer than other men his age, and piercing blue eyes. Manning and Parker Hill were a striking couple.

“I saw the owner’s table full tonight, and I figured I’d come pay my respects. Thank you for the temporary pass, Deacon.” Manning’s deep voice reverberated with authority. “May I introduce my husband, Parker Hill?”

On the cusp of turning fifty, Tiara, a submissive without a Dom or husband, desired to return to the lifestyle. Placing her destiny in the hands of Madame Eve and the 1Night Stand Service, will Tiara find all that she seeks? Or will a past love interfere with her future plans?

SORM excerpt

“You still got it, girl.” Admiring her lithe and toned body in the full-length mirror, she donned the silk robe left on a hook.

She folded and stowed her costume on the chair so when she returned to the bathroom it would be readily available. Stepping into the dimly lit hallway, Tiara followed the recessed lighting located in the floor to where a DM stood ramrod straight, muscular arms crossed over his chest.

“You may enter.” He held the door open for her and followed her in. “Please remember to utilize your safewords, if necessary. Yellow to slow down and red to stop. If at any time you feel unsettled or unsafe, this button will send a signal to me, and I will enter immediately to stop all play. Do you understand?” The DM pointed to the panic button.

“Yes, I understand.”

“Enjoy.” Without a glance backwards, the imposing DM vacated the room. Stripping off her robe, she folded and left it on a chair for later.

The walls of the Doctor’s Office were a pale pink with brown accents. Her eyes were drawn to the intricate examining table with fur-lined stirrups at the base. The table appeared to be disjointed to allow for adjustable angles. She ran her fingers along the wardrobe cabinet, dark cherrywood sanded smooth to the touch. A queen-size bed, also dark wood, sat in the far corner. She stood at parade rest, eyes downcast.

Love isn’t found at the bottom of a bottle…

Johnson O’Neill joined The Heartsong Ranch to escape his addiction. One night at a friend’s wedding, stress causes him to fall off the wagon and into the arms of the woman of his dreams.

Debra Donahue lost her husband to alcohol then pulled herself up by her bootstraps becoming a million-dollar selling real estate agent. One night with a sexy cowboy and a bottle of whiskey, Debra falls hard.

Can an alcoholic cowboy and a brokenhearted woman find love despite their fears? Or will the bottom of a bottle claim another happily ever after?

SORM excerpt

“I don’t drink, but could use a strong one, right now. Not this sissy stuff.” He lifted the glass to his lips, downed the contents, and shoved his now-empty champagne flute away before he leaned in toward her. The smell of alcohol on his breath hinted that he’d already had too much to drink. “Know anyone around here with some whiskey?” The dark sapphire of his eyes chilled her. This was a man used to getting what he wanted. “I’d even share.” His voice deepened and became husky with his offer and she shivered.“I don’t drink with men I don’t know.” Debra stuck out her hand. “I’m Debra, and you are?”

The man grabbed another glass of champagne off a passing waiter’s tray and guzzled the drink in one swallow. “The name’s Johnson O’Neill. Now about that whiskey.” He reached out and drew her up to standing then tugged her in close to him. Wrapping his arm around her back, he moved her body in a slow two-step motion.

Debra gazed into his eyes. “You don’t have to seduce me for the whiskey.” She stepped out of his embrace and put her hands on her hips. She frowned.

“That’s not why I drew you into my arms. You were tapping your foot when I arrived—and I thought you might like a dance. A pretty woman like you shouldn’t be sitting alone.” He stretched his palm out again in a plea.

SORM About the Author

Melissa Keir has always wanted to be an author when she wasn’t hoping for a career as a race car driver. Her love of books was instilled by her mother and grandparents who were avid readers. She’d often sneak books away from them so that she could fantasize about those strong alpha males and plucky heroines. In middle school and high school, Melissa used to write sappy love poems and shared them with her friends and still has those poems today! In college her writing changed to sarcastic musings on life as well as poems with a modern twist on fairy tales and won awards for her writing. You can find many of these musings along with her latest releases on her website and blog. Her stories feature small towns and happily ever after!
